The rabbits of the Rean lands have predictable lives. They follow the seasons, and year after year it is always the same. They attend seasonal markets, exchange gossip and sell their goods. Festivities are held on the two solstices, and they are in harmony with the world around them.
Feona is a farmer. She lives in the house she was born in, and works the land inherited from her father. Her life was happy and peaceful until she discovers Mysti hiding in a rubbish bin. Everything changed when she made a choice to take in the stranger. Suddenly life took on another meaning for her, and she was pulled along into adventure after adventure.
The Rean lands are set in a valley between wooded hillsides, and the inhabitants are farmers, artisans, builders, storytellers and musicians. The river on the edge of the wooded Weir is a boundary they never cross, and non of them ever venture into the hills above their lands because they know there is danger lurking there. So the community is isolated. Feona lives in the village of Leif, at the place where the river turns into a small bubbling stream. The rabbit Elders live in Rean Bent, right at the heart of rabbit lands, and it is where the Teg of the lands has his home. The furthest north is the village known as The Heights, and the mountains there are where the waterfall of the Rean river cascades down onto the land below. It is a community of farmers, and is only visited when a seasonal market is held there each autumn.
